Columbia Cruise Services (CCS) has taken over the “Splendour of the Seas”
With the aim of further collaboration of technical management towards Thomson Cruises, Columbia Cruise Services (CCS) has taken over the “Splendour of the Seas”.
On Friday the 29th of April, CCS announced that the “Splendour of the Sea” has been taken over under the full management.
Presently the vessel is safely on the blocks in the dry dock of Navantia shipyard in Cadiz/Spain. She will stay for the next six weeks in the yard to undergo an extensive refurbishment and rebranding.
Taking up the itinerary schedule in June as the biggest vessel of Thomson Cruises, she will welcome the passengers under her new name “TUI Discovery” with cruises from/to the port of Palma de Mallorca.
“We welcome the new vessel in the CCS fleet”, stated Olaf Groeger, Director of CCS. “To support Thomson’s with their newest and most modern addition is a challenging prospect we are looking forward to manage with our experts in the background.”
Columbia enhanced its tailor-made service structures within the Cruise industry by founding CCS in 2014. Looking back on more than 30 years of experience in the cruise business it was the right time to set up a specialized cruise service. CCS started operating out of Hamburg, Germany, in January 2015 dedicated exclusively to passenger, expedition cruise vessels and luxury yacht markets. CCS offers a broad scope of customized cruise and hotel services.
