Rainforest Cruises launches free Peru flights offer. New Year deal will save couples around £470
Amazon cruise specialist Rainforest Cruises has launched free internal flights for 2016 week-long cruises booked on the new Zafiro and Amazon Discovery boats in Peru.
This New Year offer includes free return flights between Peru’s main international airport at Lima and the port city of Iquitos, which is the gateway to the northern Amazon. The flight saving is worth around £470 per couple.
Zafiro
The 19-cabin luxury riverboat Zafiro launched in October 2015 and voyages deep into the Amazon. Cruises explore a series of creeks and tributaries off the main river, allowing for bountiful birdwatching and thrilling wildlife expeditions to see creatures including caiman, giant snakes and tarantulas.
Numerous activities are on offer, such as fishing for piranha, nature walks, a village visit and even Peruvian cooking classes.
Free domestic flights are available on eight-day cruises throughout 2016, with prices starting from £3,609 per person (international flights not included).
Amazon Discovery
The newly launched Amazon Discovery is Peru’s most luxurious riverboat. The 22-suite ship has five-star features including a spa, plunge pool and gourmet dining, yet it is small enough to cruise deep into the tributaries of Peru’s Amazon.
Seven-day cruises explore the Pacaya Samiria, Peru’s largest wildlife preserve, with opportunities to spot an exhilarating array of wildlife including endangered monkeys, pink dolphins, exotic spiders and the rare charapa turtle.
Experienced naturalists also lead smaller skiff-excursions including a visit to the very start of the Amazon River. There are on-land tours through the jungle with a chance to see a stick-thumping, traditional dance performed by a local tribe.
