Star Cruises Honoured At The TTG Travel Awards 2015

SuperStar Virgo at Hong KongIn recognition of Star Cruises’ outstanding achievement in winning “Best Cruise Operator in the Asia-Pacific” ten years in a row, Star Cruises was once again honoured with the prestigious Travel Trade Gazette’s (TTG) “Travel Hall of Fame” Award at this year’s 26th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand.

One of the industry’s highest prizes, Star Cruises is proud to be the only cruise line to be inducted into the TTG “Travel Hall of Fame”, celebrating its eighth consecutive year.

Star Cruises is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genting Hong Kong, a leading global leisure, entertainment and hospitality corporation. A pioneer in the Asia Pacific cruise industry, Star Cruises has been operating its fleet since 1993, taking on the bold initiative to grow the region as an international cruise destination.

A key highlight this year is the introduction of a mega 46-night voyage across the Southern Hemisphere onboard its flagship, SuperStar Virgo. Setting sail 15 November 2015 until 31 December 2015, travellers can truly experience the diverse lands and cultures in Asia and Australia with stops at 21 ports of call including Bali, Bangkok, Krakatoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Sihanoukville, Melbourne, Sydney and many other exotic and popular destinations.

Also, to service the growing North Asian market and foster greater cross-straits tourism development, Star Cruises had redeployed SuperStar Libra to its new homeport in Xiamen, China since 24 July 2015, introducing a whole new spectrum of cruise itineraries including cruises to the beautiful Penghu Islands in Taiwan and picturesque Naha and Miyakojima in Japan. Commencing 4 November 2015, SuperStar Libra will also embark on another milestone with her inaugural homeport at Haikou in Hainan, China, offering refreshing weekly cruise itineraries to Vietnam that consists of the 4Day/3Night to Da Nang/Hue and the 3Day/2Night to Halong Bay. The latest repositioning of SuperStar Libra will further complement Star Cruises’ current fleet offerings in North Asia with SuperStar Aquarius homeporting in Keelung, Taiwan, as well as Star Pisces and SuperStar Virgo in Hong Kong. Star Cruises will also continue to review the possibility of expanding its homeport footprint across the region in 2016 such as to the Pearl River Delta in China.

In Southeast Asia, SuperStar Gemini, homeported in Singapore, remains a popular choice among travellers and is also well-positioned for the growing overseas fly-cruise market in the region.
